History. The Cocker is the smallest member of the Sporting dog family. In 1368 the breed emerged, Spanyell, divided into two groups land and water. Land Spaniels were divided on the basis of size. Cockers and the (English) toy were separated. The Cocker Spaniel field trial club was founded in 1924.
